Your heads-up display is continually monitoring key stats like lap time, shield health, and boost meter, challenging you to make split-second tactical decisions. You have to fight for the top 3 positions to qualify for the more difficult contests. You can earn your way up from the Rookie League, but you have to win at least one lap.

Your hovercraft is self-propelling, so the mechanical expectation is all about steering accuracy and clever use of speed bursts. To make it to the next round of elite events, you need to aggressively chase down boost pads all across the changing layouts, control your speed through tight overtakes, and constantly finish high up in the overall ranks.
Success on these procedural neon circuits needs tremendous discipline. Always watch the track and minimap ahead for corners coming up early, instead of just responding at the last second. When you do decide to use your extra speed, make sure your hovercraft is precisely aligned on a straightaway. Boosting into a turn usually ends in a big disaster. Finally, focus on a clean line over a dirty pass -- smooth handling trumps aggressive bumping more times than not.
